Poetic Republic of Krakow

We are proud to take part in the "Poetic Republic of Krakow" campaign of the Krakow Festival Office, which promotes poetic culture growing out of Krakow as a model of Polish culture. On the streets of Krakow, from 1.07 to 16.07, an exhibition of portraits of the most important poets and poets from Krakow is being carried out. Tetmajer, Kora, Czycz i Boy and Świrszczyńska. And Szymborska. Milosz. Zagajewski. Where to write poetry if not in Krakow?

The author of the series of portraits is Beata Malinowska-Petelenz - painter, book illustrator, architect, professor at the Cracow University of Technology. Author and participant of several dozen exhibitions in Poland and abroad.

"Poetic Republic of Krakow" is a project of the monthly magazine "Kraków i Świat", supported by the Krakow Festival Office.

We encourage and invite you to walk in the footsteps of Krakow's poets!

The last of the winters

Look outside the window. It’s the last snow ever. Would you go outside? Would you taste it? Is it easier to enjoy than regular snowy days, that you’ve already seen? You chose not to celebrate previous snows. What will you do today?

There will be no more winters. We’re almost sure of that. That one season will come and will become the last one. But we’ll never know until the next one comes. Powerless, worried, hidden. This is the last winter we saw. Almost one year after  the beginning of the war that was not supposed to come ever again. Winter that was presumed to be one of those harsh ones. Winter. That dreamy land between ideas, blankets and deathly, freezing chains that does not let any light inside. Narnia or depression? Bruegel, Wyspianski, Friedrich, Joanna Karpowicz –  visual representation of winter has wonderful traditions. But let’s not romanticise too much. Winter could be beautiful and ugly. Winter could be death. Winter could be you resigning of the dreams you once had. Should we all fall asleep and wait till spring comes?

We’re looking for works related to winter mindset and aesthetics, climate catastrophe and winterish dreams. And – we do not look for answers, we’re looking for poetic statements from different parts of the world.

Open call – Momentum Gallery, march 2022

Last December we had a pleasure of hosting an amazing international exhibition “Traces of the Future” – we presented works by 18 Artists who responded to our open call. Now we’re inviting you to another open call for the exhibition “No longer valid”. Below you’ll find exhibition and all technical info. Open call is open till 21.02. 6pm (CET).

We’re looking forward your works!

No longer valid

Exhibition title is No longer valid and we’re looking for artworks dealing with losses and abandoned meanings wishing for a ray of nostalgia. Do not dive into easy pathways and nostalgic moods from the past. Find today’s stories that already seem to be no longer valid. Spaces that no longer serve their purposes, identieties that are still „in progress”, goods that no longer should be made or bought, trends that seem attractive but smell like past.

We do not look for answers, we’re looking for poetic statements from different parts of the world.

Artists for Farm of Life – summary

Artists for Farm of Life is a unique event as it combines different groups of people, sometimes estranged to each other. This year, again, artists decided to support foundation „Wspólnota Nadziei” and so they donated their works. Works were presented during an exhibition in Krakow in SARP Gallery. Then all of them went to charity auction.

And so – over 120 works (!) were sold for over 85 k zł. This is a huge outcome and great support for the Więckowice house – center for adults with autism.

AP KunstArt Fund Team proudly supported this event and we’re very happy with the outcome.
